The first Friday in February was a proud day for three young flooring apprentices as they celebrated their achievements in gaining their National Certificate in Flooring.

Shane and Lisa Moir from SKM Carpet Installations, generously hosted a hearty breakfast to celebrate their success and provide the opportunity to forge stronger bonds between industry, the flooring training provider (ATI) and BCITO.

Jeff Henry, CEO of FloorNZ and ATI had the honour of presenting the certificates. All the trainees attended the ATI flooring block courses, as did their trainers before them. ATI has a long–

standing, proven track record of educating flooring apprentices with off-job training that assists in developing commercially competent flooring professionals.

BCITO Training Advisor Lance Aydon was on hand to commend his successful trainees, Bradley Rayner, Conner Moir and Shaymus Brunton. These trainees were among the first in NZ to use myBCITO as a training tool for providing evidence of their skills and knowledge and for goal setting.

Trainers Shane and Lisa Moir along with Daniel Snell have been the cornerstones of the two employer assessment teams. They have kept their trainees on track and trained them to be the best that they can be.

The success of Bradley, Connor and Shaymus has been a true team effort. When you bring together dedicated trainees, expert trainers, a top class training provider, under the guidance of BCITO, trade champions are made!
