Apprentice, Employer & Training Advisor Applications

The Allan Sage Apprentice of the Year Award is the ultimate recognition for glazing apprentices who go above and beyond in their craft. Named in honour of Allan Sage, a dedicated advocate for industry training, this award celebrates passion, skill, and commitment to excellence in the Glass & Glazing industry.

The highest recognition for a glazing apprentice, this award celebrates excellence in craftsmanship, technical ability, and professionalism. It is awarded to an individual who has consistently delivered outstanding results, shown leadership qualities, and contributed to the industry with passion and dedication. Winning this award is a mark of distinction, setting the apprentice apart as a future leader in the field.

Nomination notes:

  • To be eligible for this award, the nominee must have attended their final Off Job Training Course after 1 April 2024.
  • The nominee must have either completed or still in training.
  • The nominee must be still working as a glazier or glass processor in the glass industry at the time of entry.
  • Both Training Advisor and Employer MUST complete their relevant online application forms.
  • Apprentice MUST complete their relevant online application form.


Apprentice Project Submission

This section is compulsory for Apprentices. The apprentice project submission is your chance to email a portfolio that showcases your skills, experience, and achievements as a Glass & Glazing apprentice. It provides the judges with a clear picture of why you deserve to be The Allan Sage Glass & Glazing Apprentice of the Year.

You can include:

Work: Share details about a current project or multiple projects worked on.

Photos & Media: Include images, videos, or other media that highlight work and craftsmanship.

This section is optional for Employers and Training Advisors to email additional documentation and/or photographs to support their nomination.

Please email lachlan.mitchell@bcito.org.nz with any additional documentation you wish to summit. Make sure you include award name and apprentice’s name in the subject line and it is sent by 5.00pm Wednesday 30 April.
