How to become an Apprentice Leader

There are two ways to be nominated:

  1. Apprentices and employers can make nominations via Perry Sue who is our Industry Advocate for Learner Voice.

Eligibility criteria

Are you a viable pick?

  • At least 18 months into a BCITO apprenticeship or qualified for no longer than 2 years
  • Have the capacity to commit to an 18-month role
  • Someone who is confident, outgoing and a strong team player
  • Able to deal with uncomfortable situations and think on your feet
  • Are honest and able speak openly about your thoughts and your experience as an apprentice
  • Be open to featuring on social media

No costs

BCITO will cover all costs including:

  • The Outward Bound experience
  • Meals and catering are fully provided or compensated
  • Compensated for any costs while you are travelling for an event. This includes flights, accommodation, meals, Uber/taxi, personal car mileage.
  • Employers will be fully compensated for any apprentice time away from work - up to 8 hours for each day spent.

While you can nominate anytime, the recruitment phase for the following year’s Apprentice Leaders runs from August to the end of October.
