One of the components of the reform of vocational education is the establishment of six Workforce Development Councils (WDCs) that will give industries greater leadership and influence across vocational education. WDCs will set standards, develop qualifications and help shape the curriculum of vocational education to ensure it meets their industries’ needs.

Our qualification standards-setting functions will be transferred to a new entity, called Waihanga Ara Rau the Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council (WDC).
