How long it takes

The New Zealand Certificate in Joinery Level 4 typically takes 16 – 30 month  to complete depending on what strands you choose and for people new to the industry.

What you'll learn

You'll learn the skills and gain the knowledge required by people working in kitchen joinery. 

This qualification covers:

Core compulsory

• health and safety
• legislation
• communication and planning
• materials and products
• use of tools and equipment
• drawings and specifications
• mathematics
• kitchen design concepts

Electives - you must choose at least 1 of the following strands that cover what you'll be doing on-the-job.

Manufacture

• Machinery used for manufacturing
• Manufacturing processes and methods
• Manufacturing and assembly of kitchen joinery.

Installation

• Install kitchen joinery
