Graduation - West Coast

The Monteiths Brewery in Greymouth provided the perfect backdrop for a special evening of achievement as BCITO hosted a graduation ceremony celebrating the newest qualified tradespeople from the West Coast region.

Strong Community Support

Around 60 attendees gathered to honor the accomplishments of nine graduates, including two women who have successfully completed their qualifications. The ceremony saw impressive support from local employers, families, and community members who came together to recognize the hard work and dedication of these skilled professionals.

Distinguished Guests

The event was honored by the presence of local dignitaries who emphasized the importance of trades training to the region. Greymouth Mayor Tania Gibson and National MP Maureen Pugh both delivered inspiring speeches that highlighted the critical need for more apprentices in the construction industry.

Both speakers took the opportunity to personally thank the employers who have committed to training the next generation of skilled tradespeople, as well as acknowledging BCITO's crucial role in supporting apprentices through to graduation.

A Collective Achievement

Representatives from BCITO, including Tara and Dave, attended the ceremony to present the qualifications and celebrate alongside the graduates. The evening served as a reminder that each qualification represents not just individual achievement, but also the collective effort of employers, training advisors, and supporting families.

The graduation ceremony exemplifies BCITO's commitment to recognizing achievement in the trades and building stronger connections within the construction community on the West Coast.
