Allan has worked in the construction industry since he was 17. He started on the tools, before completing a Bachelor of Construction. After studying, he worked as a Q.S. for a main contractor but soon realised his passion was for the interiors trades.
He started with Simple Solutions Interiors in Auckland in 2002. Allan then moved to Queenstown in 2005 to set up his own interiors company. Then in 2010, he moved back to Christchurch to do the same. He’s been all over the country and had a 'mint' time doing it.
A big note of thanks from BCITO goes to Stuart Phelps for leading the Executive Council and working so proactively with us. Stuart will still be representing the Bay of Plenty region on the Executive so we look forward to continuing our collaboration with Allan, Stuart and the team.
Female trade apprentices are loving their career choice, but few considered a career in building or construction while they were at school, research shows.
