Graduation - Hawkes Bay 2025
BCITO Graduation Celebrates Hawkes Bay's Newest Qualified Tradespeople
Twenty recently qualified Hawkes Bay graduates took center stage at the BCITO Graduation ceremony held at the Toi Toi Events complex at Functions on Hastings last Friday. The event brought together family, friends, partners, and employers to celebrate the achievements of these skilled individuals who have completed their training across various trades.
Central North Island Area Manager Hayden Burmeister expressed gratitude to the support networks that helped these graduates succeed. "Acknowledging the support of friends and family in the background," Burmeister noted, while giving special recognition to the employers who make apprenticeships possible.
"Amongst juggling the many demands of running businesses and projects, your investment in continuing the tradition of apprenticeships is phenomenal. We are truly grateful for the work that you put into training your staff, and are confident that you have seen the return on this investment in the upskilling and capability of your team," he said.
The graduation represented a diverse range of trades and vocations including Interior Systems, Aluminium Joinery, Timber Joinery, Carpentry, Painting & Decorating, and Supervisors.
For BCITO Training Advisors, witnessing the development of tomorrow's industry leaders brings immense satisfaction. "There are some pretty inspiring stories out there from everyday apprentices. Getting to know them along the way, what's going on in their lives, and what they are involved in outside of work is the icing on the cake for us."
One such story was highlighted during the ceremony when attendees viewed BCITO's Sports video featuring Hawkes Bay local Frank Lahore's journey both in sports and as a BCITO tradesperson.
The organisation looks forward to celebrating more talented graduates at the next Hawkes Bay Graduation event later this year.
