Young Leader Development Programme

Following on from the Apprentice of the Year competition, the AWCI Executive has started a new leadership programme whereby an Apprentice or recently qualified young leader joins the Executive for 12 months.

To build long-term development of the people in our sector, this initiative aims to:

  • Develop younger people within the industry on the workings of the Interior Construction industry
  • Provide governance and business experience for younger leaders who might aspire to own their own business in the sector
  • Ensure the AWCI Executive has a direct “younger” voice to provide greater benefits for members

The young leader would attend Executive meetings to learn about the industry and gain insight into the Association and its members. Applications for the November 2024 – October 2025 period are open now.

AWCI covers the cost of time spent at Executive meetings and all travel for the young leader as well. This is an exciting initiative that helps to assist our young leaders understand more about the industry they work in.
