The New Zealand Diploma in Timber Structure Detailing (L5) is now available for sign-up. Long overdue, this Diploma qualification at Level 5 replaces the NZ Certificate in Frame & Truss Detailing (Level 4 or L4).

The first qualification at this increased level for the sector was launched in late December. This is exciting for the sector as they have wanted the qualification level increased from a Certificate L4 to a Diploma L5 for quite some time.

By achieving this qualification, you will learn:

  • Construction theory
  • Detailing
  • Design solutions
  • Legislation and building consents
  • Technical drawing and specifications

You’ll also continue to learn practical skills from your employer. Your BCITO Training Advisor will engage with you online regularly at myBCITO and make personal face-to-face visits too. Together, they will be there to make sure you are on track.
